Weather's been nice. Yesterday I got the floors and back patio cleaned. Went through some of the bins in my inventory and found a lot of things I need to sell or get rid of. Popped open my OpenBSD router, which is no longer booting, and put in a new hard drive. I'd been hoping to get PPPoE working on it in order to remove my ISP's router from my network stack, but no dice. I'm going to try Debian for a bit, as I read a comment somewhere indicating that it might work where OpenBSD had failed.
I keep having the idea of creating a queue I can just throw objects on for handling by whatever I feel like hooking up. Something persistent that can take input via web, eink tablet, CLI, or SMS. I want to be able to remove my laptop and my smartphone from my daily gear. Feels like I've lost a lot of the quiet and focus I had when I was younger, before the advents of smartphones and social media. I know this is not a unique impulse or feeling, and I know we've all got to deal with it in our own ways. I think this might be my way, but we'll see I guess.
