My favorite genre fiction author. I have so far read many of the novels and novellas of the Hainish Cycle (though it has been long enough since that I can no longer remember exactly which; I thought I had read them all, but there seem to be more than I remember reading), A Wizard of Earthsea, and No Time to Spare (a collection of essays).

Her work often has an anthropological bent to it, and often contains strains of taoist and anarchist thought, though she herself subscribed to neither.

I am presently reading Always Coming Home.
